The Win~Dow Is Coming to Montana: Why I'm Excited About a $4.50 Burger on My Favorite Street

Let me be honest with you for a minute. R+D Kitchen has my heart when it comes to Montana Avenue burgers — it is my go-to between showings, my reliable "long day" order, and it is not going anywhere. But I have been walking past the banners at 930 Montana Ave for weeks now, and I am genuinely excited about what is coming next. The Win~Dow, the LA-born smashburger concept that started at a small window in Venice in 2019, is opening its seventh location on Montana this May in the former Go Get Em Tiger space. A walk-up counter. Outdoor stools. $4.50 cheeseburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, grain bowls, and on weekends, breakfast burritos and egg-topped burgers. Santa Monica will also get dipped cones and milkshakes. As a Westside agent and Palisades native who has worked Montana Ave for nearly two decades, I wanted to share why this particular opening matters to me — not just as a food moment, but as a read on where my favorite street is headed. Montana already has the elevated. A walk-up burger window adds the everyday, and in my experience, the best neighborhoods are the ones where both can live side-by-side. This post covers why The Win~Dow fits here, what it says about 90402 right now, the current wave of independent openings shaping this corridor (including Malia Mills' new flagship at 1129 Montana), and what it all means if you are thinking about buying, selling, or staying rooted in North of Montana. Because yes, R+D still has my heart. But I will be at the Win~Dow window in May.
